One of Holland America Line's recent innovations is their ongoing Signature of Excellence® program, a $525 million fleet wide enhancement. Their ships will be undergoing extensive dry docks to create new venues, new staterooms (such as Lanai staterooms), new entertainment and enrichment options, new decor and more. Among the enhancements is their Culinary Arts Center, new cabin amenities (including flat-panel TVs and plush-top Mariner's Dream Beds), and new teens-only areas.

What's New for Holland America Line?
In late October 2014, Holland America Line announced the continuation of its overwhelmingly popular "Dancing with the Stars: At Sea" program for 2015-2016. The collaboration brings the celebrities of ABC's "Dancing with the Stars" to all of the premium ships in the Holland America fleet, culminating with the annual Champions Cruise competition onboard the ms Nieuw Amsterdam in January 2016. This program features six special "Dancing with the Stars: At Sea" theme cruises, as well as an ongoing dance competition for guests across all sailings departing through November 24, 2015. Guests can experience complimentary dance lessons with the ship's dance pros and enter the competition for an opportunity to represent their ship on the Champions Cruise.
Holland America will be saying goodbye to ms Statendam and ms Ryndam in November of 2015. To make up for the loss in passenger capacity, Holland America will be introducing a new 99,500-ton vessel that will carry 2,648 guests, ms Koningsdam. This ship will be the largest ship ever in their fleet, ushering in a new ("Pinnacle") class of ships for Holland America, with an  expected debut during April 2016. A sister ship to ms Koningsdam will debut in November 2018.
In January 2015, Holland America has announced that following her Premiere Mediterranean Voyages, ms Koningsdam will return to her summer homeport of the Netherlands. From there, her itineraries will be round trip Amsterdam cruises to Norway, the Baltic and Iceland.
An exclusive agreement has been reached between the renowned Le Cirque restaurant and Holland America Line, as "An Evening at Le Cirque" will be offered in the Pinnacle Grill of each of the fleet's 15 ships. For at least one night on just about every Holland America cruise, the Pinnacle Grill will become a Le Cirque-like restaurant. On such evenings, the menu, wine selections, table decorations and other aspects of the restaurant will be altered to create an authentic Le Cirque dining experience. Reservations for this sure to be popular dining option are available at an additional charge. Special demonstrations will take place in each ship's Culinary Arts Center, giving guests the opportunity to learn how to cook a Le Cirque dish or two. |
