Going along with this concept, NCL's ships offer a ton of fabulous optional specialty dining venues (some of which have a cover charge). Since 2010, NCL has had an exclusive partnership with Nickelodeon, one of the world's most popular entertainment brands for kids. The Nickelodeon at Sea program is currently available aboard select Norwegian ships (Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Epic, Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Jewel, and Norwegian Getaway). What's New for NCL?
Norwegian Cruise Line will be bringing all the excitement and innovation of the Breakaway class of ships fleetwide. Spending over $250 million over the course of the next two years will give Norwegian Cruise Line one of the most modern fleets in the industry. Ships will be receiving updated dining options, Sugarcane Mojito Bar as well as other fresh drinks choices, fabulous new entertainment, and new technology to make Norwegian Cruise Line ships some the most Eco- and connection-friendly in the world.
Norwegian Cruise Line has named the two ships in their upcoming "Breakaway Plus" class. Norwegian Escape and Norwegian Bliss will be the two largest in the Norwegian fleet. Each will weigh approximately 163,000 gross tons and accommodate about 4,200 guests. They will be delivered in October of 2015 and during the spring of 2017, respectively.
Starting in October of 2014, Norwegian Cruise Line expanded its operations to the brand new Port of Houston. Norwegian Jewel will now be sailing 7-Night Caribbean Gulf itineraries all year-round. Stops along the way include Cozumel (Mexico), Belize, and Honduras.
During 2013 Pride of America received two major enhancements. The first came in April with the addition of Moderno Churrascaria restaurant, ship-wide WiFi, new carpeting throughout, flat-panel TVs in all cabins and upgraded décor and renovations to shopping facilities. In October, the stateroom offerings onboard were expanded with 24 suites, 4 studios, and 4 insides.
During 2011, NCL refurbished several of their ships. Among them, Norwegian Dawn, Norwegian Spirit and Norwegian Sun each received a variety of enhancements and renovations. |
